Amongst the programming ordered by London Live’s Commissioning Executive Derren Lawford is multicultural sitcom ‘The T-Boy Show’. Acquired from MTA Productions, the comedy series will star YouTuber Don’t Jealous Me (Tolulope Ogunmefun), from the award-winning sitcom ‘Meet The Adebanjos’.
It will follow the culture-clashing exploits of T-Boy (Tolu), a rich Nigerian boy who comes to live with his cousin and aunt in London.
In the factual entertainment genre, Lawford has commissioned GRM Daily to make two new series based on hit YouTube formats ‘Car Check’ and ‘Dine Daily’. A Top Gear for the urban generation, Car Check looks at what’s hot and what’s not in the world of motors, bikes and modifications.
Dine Daily, hosted by Claira Hermet and chef, Big J, invites contestants to compete to make a decent dinner on a budget.

From production company BWNG comes a comedy drama based on their hit YouTube series ‘Brothers With No Game’. Following the unsuccessful love lives of four black Londoners, the show will also feature light-hearted relationship advice from the characters, urban celebrities and real people.
In music, Lawford has acquired a series from production company Balcony TV. Based on their online music portal, ‘Balcony TV: Music Sessions’ will showcase eclectic acoustic sessions from around the world, all recorded from a special balcony overlooking the rooftops of Westminster.
Also in music comes ‘SPiT TV’, a show which celebrates the 10 year anniversary of UK urban music’s first ever dedicated series, originally broadcast on Channel U. Featuring fresh and exclusive one mic/one take performances, SPiT TV will also take a look back at the highlights of urban music over the last decade.
The show is an advertiser funded programme produced by urban retailer ‘We Hustle’ and is hosted by Capital Xtra DJ, Ras Kwame. London Live has also acquired a factual series from We Hustle which features a string of high-profile Londoners who tell us in their own words how they went from ‘Nothing To Something’.
A top notch cast which includes YouTube sensation KSI in his first acting role as well as Keith Duffy, Suzanne Shaw and Brenda Edwards will star in football drama ‘5ASIDE’. Acquired from Emerald Films, the pilot series follows the trials and tribulations of a five a side football team, both on and off the pitch.
Also from Emerald Films is the pilot ‘Steffi’. Originally a web series on YouTube channel THISISDRAMA, Steffi is the first ever online drama series to be accepted for nomination in the Best Drama Series category in the BAFTA Television Awards with Jamal Edwards up for Best Actor and Jasmine Breinburg up for Best Actress.
“We are really excited about this new programming and the calibre of the talent that we are showcasing. We want Raw to be confident, cheeky, experimental and edgy and provide a real platform for scenes on screen, giving the online stars of now the chance to be the TV stars of the future,” says Derren Lawford, Commissioning Executive, London Live.
