Man left impaled on railings after plunging from window in east London

A middle-aged man was left impaled on a metal railing after plunging from a window in east London. 

The man, thought to be in his 40s, was rushed to hospital after the fall in Bow in the early hours of this morning. 

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 1.52am to reports of an incident in Bruce Road, E3. 

“We treated a man, believed to be in his 40s, for leg injuries. 

“He was taken as a priority to the Royal London Hospital.”

The LAS Joint Response Twitter account added: “Responded with @MPSTowerHam to a patient who fell from a window, impaled on railings. AE as a priority.”

The Metropolitan Police could not find a record of having been called.
